Day 1: May 30, 2025
  • 11:30 PM: Bus from Delhi to Manali.

     Meeting Point: ISBT Kashmiri Gate
  • Drive to Dhundi (2,800 m), trek to Bakarthach/Luhali Thach (3,300 m)

    Elevation Gain: +500 m
  • Trek to Lady Leg Base Camp (3,900 m) and begin technical training

     Elevation Gain: +600 m
  • Acclimatization day, ropework training, and ferry supplies to Summit Camp

  • Stay overnight at Lady Leg

  • Elevation Gain: +500 m

  • Trek from Lady Leg to Summit Camp (4,400 m)

  • Elevation Gain: +500 m

  • Summit Push! Reach 5,289 m, then return to Lady Leg Base Camp

  • Elevation Gain: +889 m | Descent: –1,389 m

  • Reserve Day for summit attempt (in case of bad weather)

  • Descend to Dhundi, drive back to Manali

  • Descent: –1,850 m

  •  7:00 PM: End of Trek

Mandatory Hiking Insurance

All participants must have valid hiking insurance that covers high-altitude trekking and emergency evacuation.
Proof of insurance is mandatory before the expedition.

Comprehensive Gear Checklist for Friendship Peak Expedition

🧥 Clothing Layers

  • Base Layers (2–3 sets): Moisture-wicking thermals (top & bottom)

  • Mid Layers (2): Fleece jackets or softshells (choose based on preference)

  • Insulation Layer: Heavy down jacket

  • Outer Shell: Waterproof and windproof shell jacket and pants (Gore-Tex or similar)

  • Trekking Pants (2 pairs)

  • Insulated Pants (for summit day)

  • Dry-fit T-shirts (3–4): Lightweight, moisture-wicking; recommended anti-odor or antimicrobial

  • Underwear (4–6 pairs)

🥾 Footwear

  • Trekking Boots: Waterproof with good ankle support

  • Camp Shoes: Lightweight and breathable

  • Wool/Synthetic Hiking Socks (5–6 pairs)

  • Waterproof Socks (1 pair for summit day)

  • Duffel Bag: All main gear (to be handed to porters on June 1)

  • Clothing: Casual wear suitable for a hill station climate

  • Essentials: Toiletries, clean clothes, towel, phone charger

  • Wear: Base layer, trekking pants, fleece, sun hat

  • Backpack: Water (2L), sunglasses, sunscreen, snacks, rain jacket

  • Duffel Bag: Handover to porters (contains full gear & sleeping bag)

  • Wear: Base layer, softshell/fleece, trekking pants, sun hat
  • Backpack: Rain gear, hydration, energy bars, gloves, camera, medications.

  • Crampons (provided, but bring if you have your own)

  •  Climbing Harness & Carabiners (provided, training included)
  • Helmet (provided)
  • Sleeping Bag: Rated for -10°C to -15°C
  • Sleeping Pad: Inflatable or foam for insulation
