Mount Belumut is in Johor, Malaysia, approximately 115 km from Singapore and 30 km from Kluang.

Elevation:
1,010 meters (3,314 feet) above sea level, making it one of the highest peaks in southern Peninsular Malaysia.

Attractions:
Features challenging forest trails, striking rock formations like Batu Keris (a sword-shaped rock at the summit), panoramic views, and a river play area perfect for cooling off after the hike.
The mountain is part of the Mount Belumut Recreational Forest, home to diverse flora, fauna, and unique insects.

10:30 AM: Reach CP 2 BATU CENGKERANG (Water refill point)
11:30 AM: Reach CP 3 HENTIAN LARA
1:00 PM: Reach CP 4 KEM KABUS
1:30 PM: Reach BELUMUT PEAK (Group Photo)
2:30 PM: Start descending
3:30 PM: Reach CP 3 HENTIAN LARA
4:00 PM: Reach CP 2 BATU KERANG

Difficulty Level

Moderate to Challenging for the summit hike.
Beginners can reach Checkpoint 2 (Batu Kerang – 494m) or Checkpoint 3 (Hentian Lara – 673m) with relative ease.

Please research before signing up to ensure this hike suits your fitness level and experience.

Pre-requisites

  • A passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry into Malaysia.
  • Ensure you are aware of visa requirements. Confirm that you have the appropriate visa or are eligible for
    visa-free entry.
  • Trekkers should have a reasonable level of physical fitness and stamina to participate safely and
    comfortably.

Bus Etiquette

  • Only water is allowed inside the bus (No hot or cold beverages).

  • Clean your shoes before boarding or wear sandals/slippers. Dirty shoes will not be permitted.

What to Bring

Mandatory

  • Lightweight, breathable clothing (preferably full-length)

  • Hiking boots or sturdy footwear

  • Lightweight backpack

  • Rain gear (raincoat or poncho)

  • Sunscreen & hat

  • Trekking poles

  • Personal medications

  • Headlamp or flashlight

  • Water bottles or hydration bladder (1.5–3L capacity)

  • Towel & change of clothes for post-trek

  • Insect repellent

  • Light hand gloves

Waterfall Area:
Bring swimwear and water slippers if you plan to enjoy the waterfall after the trek.

Baggage:
You may bring two bags — one can be left on the bus for safekeeping.
